While the name and packaging have changed, the trusted formulation remains exactly the same. Dentihex continues to contain 0.2% chlorhexidine and provides the same proven support for oral hygiene and periodontal health in companion animals.

Why Has Dentisept Changed Its Name?

The name change from Dentisept to Dentihex was introduced by our manufacturing partner, Livisto, to support regulatory requirements and provide greater consistency across European markets.

The new name also better reflects the product’s active ingredient, chlorhexidine, while retaining the same trusted formulation that veterinary professionals have relied on for many years.

Importantly, only the name and packaging have changed. The product formulation, method of application and clinical performance remain unchanged.

Dentihex is a vanilla-flavoured adhesive oral paste containing 0.2% chlorhexidine, a well-established antiseptic with antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties.

Its unique adhesive formulation contains a proprietary polymer that provides a depot effect, allowing the gradual release of chlorhexidine for up to 24 hours following a single application. This prolonged contact helps support oral hygiene and the management of periodontal disease.

The supplied soft applicator makes it easy to apply Dentihex directly to difficult-to-reach areas of the mouth, while its pleasant vanilla flavour encourages good acceptance in both dogs and cats.
